Radio Controlled P-51D replica of Jim Browning's "Gentleman Jim." This is a 1/5 scale (wingspan 84 inches) beautiful flyable model made of balsa and plywood construction that is covered with 3/4 ounce cloth and fiberglassed, followed by real aluminum adhesive sheeting that is put on panel to panel. All rivets and screws are then sunk into the covering and panels and then sanded and buffed to show different wear patterns. The decals are hand painted and then a wash is applied to simulate the everyday grime the real planes endured. This plane took Jim Thurman over 4 years to construct. Great job Jim!!!
